Local air districts
California’s subdivisions of Air Quality Control and Management districts are committed to protecting the health of residents, while remaining sensitive to businesses. Each district has its own policies and issues. You can find your district’s website by clicking on your region on the map shown at the link above.
STATE
California Air Resources Board (ARB)
The mission of the California ARB is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the state.
California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA)
Cal/EPA is charged with developing, implementing and enforcing the state's environmental protection laws that ensure clean air, clean water, clean soil, safe pesticides and waste recycling and reduction. Its departments are at the forefront of environmental science, using cutting-edge research to shape the state's environmental laws.
California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR)
The mission of the CDPR is to protect human health and the environment by regulating pesticide sales and use, and by fostering reduced-risk pest management.
California Department of Toxic Substances Control (CDTSC)
The Mission of the Department of Toxic Substances Control is to provide the highest level of safety, and to protect public health and the environment from toxic harm.
Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA)
The mission of the OEHHA is to protect and enhance public health and the environment by scientific evaluation of risks posed by hazardous substances.
